Plain and simple, a bag of Sunflower Kernels is 100% food. Given that in a normal bag of seed with hulls, about 60% is waste, the increased price per pound is greatly offset by the amount of actual food in the bag. For those who do not want to deal with waste, this is an outstanding choice for feeding. The preference among the three size kernels (fine, meduim or coarse) is based on the type of feeder you are using and your target birds. The one drawback to kernels that they lack a seed coat which makes them vulnerable to moisture. Available in 5lb, 10lb & 20lb bags.
